Abstract

Nano WG December 6, 2018

As one of the first places many people look up information on health and safety, including with emerging technologies like nanotechnology, it is important for Wikipedia to contain information that is complete, up to date, and free of errors.  Since 2012, NIOSH has employed Wikipedians-in-Residence to contribute text, media, and data, and engage NIOSH scientists and staff in contributing.  This talk will give an overview of NIOSH’s experience in improving Wikipedia content on nanotechnology and other emerging technologies, and give an overview of ways that scientists can contribute themselves.
